This course guides you through the different aspects of participating in a successful job interview. Interviewing is one of the most important and challenging aspects of getting a job. It is important to understand the necessary steps to ensuring that you will be the most successful candidate in the job interview process. Therefore, this course will help you to understand the different types of interviews, how to prepare, what to do during the interview, and the follow-up steps.

Course Goals/Objectives

  • Understanding what interviews are all about, how the various interview formats differ, and how a typical interview may proceed should put your mind at ease.
  • Guide you through the different ways to prepare for an interview, including offering advice from the experts. It will explain how to research the company beforehand. It will help you identify appropriate interview attire and will provide you with a checklist of items to bring along with you to the interview. In addition, it will help you both prepare to ask the right questions and practice answering the questions you are likely to be asked. 
  • From the first door you walk through to the final handshake on your way out, this lesson will help you learn how to behave during an interview. It will help you identify basic business etiquette that can improve your chances, as well as show you how your tone of voice and body language can be interpreted by the interviewer. It will also outline the basic rules for answering questions well, explain how and why you should reflect on your interview, and give you some samples of follow-up e-mails and thank you letters. It will also discuss ways to evaluate a job offer, and how to gracefully accept or decline the offer.
